They may but : Steroids could also potentially cause more harm than good down the road....Ask your orthopedist what he/she thinks and for possible alternative injectables.

Potentially: At your young age, you would want to make sure you do not have such a large rotator cuff tear that it will cause you long term problems unless it is fixed. That being said, rotator cuff problems can often respond pretty dramatically to steroid injections to improve pain and function. Thank you for your question.
