It coudl be irritati: You are  correct  that  this  might  be related to prolonged  activity. The pelvic bumps and those on the roof of the mouth could be trauma also. Another  concern is infection. This is something to discuss with your physician.

Recurrent strep throat can happen in cases of antibiotic resistance, improper dosing of medications, underlying immune suppression, being close to a strep carrier.  Petechiae(red dots) on the soft palate are an uncommon but specific finding for strep throat.
