A couple of things: Allergies, illness, trauma or possibly an infected tooth. There may be other causes as well. Hope this helps.

Acute sinusitis : A sinus infection may also have a cough, sore throat, toothache, fever and bad breath. Neti-pot Saline irrigation, plenty of water, expectorants and NSAIDs for pain are good home remedies to drain the sinuses and alleviate the condition.
