Hi, : Hi, what are your concerns/specific questions?

These results discribed are disk disease/degenerative changes, there is nothing described to tell of how sever eit is so it is difficult to know what the extent is without seeing the images. The most important thing concerning the MRI is to make sure the finding are consistent with your symptoms in order to tell if it is of any concern. As we age, most of us have the abnormalities as described in your report, but the importance is deciding if this is the cause of your symptoms. This should be done by your doctor.

Indirectly: We see the reversal when the muscles are in spasm and the neck is in pain. When the pain goes away and the muscles relax their guarding we see a return of normal curvature.

Injections w/ PT: Sorry to hear about your pain. If conservative treatment had already failed, i would consider epidural steroid injections along with physical therapy. It may free you up to get more out of pt. Avoid high velocity manipulation w those osteophytes. Also avoid surgery as long as possible. If epidural does not help at all, may be facet related, blocks with subsequent rfa may benefit from well.

Conservative care: Don't worry about your mri.  As long as the MRI did not show any acute findings such as significant disc herniation or a fracture or dislocation, your MRI findings are just chronic normal aging changes.  Most patients in an mva have just a soft tissue injury which will completely resolve with time and conservative treatment - specifically physical therapy and anti-inflammatory meds.  Good luck!

: In a normal x-ray/CT/MRI of the neck a gradual curve from the back of the head to the back. After a stressful event causes the neck muscles to tighten, the curve is less. By itself it is just the radiologist describing a finding that differs from a relaxed patient.  Radiologists get fussed at if they just say "straightening of the neck or normal variant" .

Muscle spasm: Muscle spasm pulls the cervical spin out of its normal curvature. Massage, physical therapy, exercises, manipulation, acupuncture, or medications may help.

Deformity in spine: I assume it is a reversal of the cervical lordosis; which normal means there is a tightness/ spasm of the neck muscle probably second to pain

Yes: Not unusual after getting the plumbing reworked.  Discuss with the surgeon at follow up visit.  Not normal to have severe pain, vomiting,  no stool output, bleeding after reversal; if present, call md asap.

Posibly: If it is new get it checked may be a congenital kyphosis developing noticed now after a little growth child's spines are different shaped usually gently kyphotic haven't walked enough to develop the balanced curves.
