can you get pneumonia soon after recovering from the first bout?

Sure, if unlucky: There is no law saying one cannot get pneumonia after recovering from pneumonia. Actually, a unlucky, sickly person can get a second case of pneumonia even before recovering from the first case. So, the best things to do are to stay healthy and strong, eat healthy foods, exercise, get vaccinated, avoid sick people; and if quite vulnerable, wear a face mask and wash hands after touching things.

i was sent home from hosp after bout with pneumonia with oxygen. my level is from 91-97 without and 97-99 with. do i still need the oxygen 24/7?

Oxygen: You should see your primary care physician to assess the need for continuous oxygen.  Also, you should stop smoking!  smoking, pneumonia, and oxygen do not mix!

Time, usually: Most forms of pneumonia in children do not produce permanent changes in lung tissues, and with time and gradual increases in physical activity your child should recover uneventfully.  If, however, they fail to do so, would strongly recommend they being seen by a pediatrician or pediatric pulmonologist.  Truly believe and hope this will not be needed.  Hope they get well soon.

No necessarily : Pneumonia takes 6-7 weeks to clear from lungs. It's not that you still have an infection if you have finished the course of your antibiotics. The mucous and congestion just takes longer to clear up and coughing it up is actually good. You can try mucinex to help you break it up.

Depends on cause: Recurrent pneumonia should be investigated and cause of the scarring determined to ensure that there is no ongoing inflammation in the involved segment of the lung. Treatment depends on underlying cause that is identified. If there is persistent infection in the lungs, it can lead to development of bronchiectasis over time. Please consult a lung specialist for detailed assessment.

what are possible reasons that my four year old has chronic cough with mucus months after pneumonia bout?

Talk to your doctor: There are many causes of cough that lasts a long time. When it goes away in 2-3 weeks it is likely to just be an acute infection, but when it lasts for months it is more serious and needs to be checked out.  Asthma, allergies, sinus infection  and acid reflux can all cause on-going cough. Talk to your doctor about further testing and/or referral to a children's lung specialist.

i was put on oxygen during my bout with covid pneumonia and on my discharge papers it said i have hypoxia. i have not been working n the oxygen since december 24 and my oxygen levels are between 98 and 92. my question is am i able to fly w/o oxygen?

Sometimes there are drops in oxygen levels down 30 points while walking in COIVD 19 patients To answer your question specific to your concerns, you need to contact a doctor. Relative oxygen levels are different depending on your lung health and age.

Yes: Please, please follow your doc's treastment recommendations and go to hospital if any signs the child is struggling. Look for blueness around mouth or hands, extreme fatigue, altered breathing pattern, change in behavior or responsiveness as signs to go back to hospital.
