Possible: There are different causes and types of rta. Vitamin d deficiency may cause it, different meds and toxins can do it, certain diseases (lupus, sjogren syndrome) may do it and finally there are some genetic causes. As you see, some of those are reversible and curable, while others (lupus, hereditary) are  not, so RTA can only improve as long as the underlying cause is.

my urinalysis can back more than 10 epithelial cell (non renal). what does that mean?

: The epithelial layer is the outermost layer of any tissue. There are epithelial cells lining the inside of the ureters that are exposed to urine passing by as it travels to the bladder, the inside of the bladder, and inside of the outlet. These cells ware out and shed into the urine. By itself it is a normal finding. Please discuss any of your concerns with the doc who ordered the test.

No, usually not...: Cortical cyst(s) inside kidneys are common and they tends to become bigger with variable pace over time but causing no pain at all until the extremely rare occurrence of its internal infection / bleeding. So, look into other sources for chronic backache, which more commonly results from musculoskeletal or neuromuscular origin. Detail? Ask Doc timely.

i have renal cyst. and my daughter was playin with me and kept kickin.my back. now that kidney is really hurting. whats goin on?

Cyst or rib: Your daughter may have bruised or fractured a rib. Conversely, the cyst may have ruptured, if it is very large. Then agaig she may have bruised your kidn ey. Get it checked if the pain persists.

No: The high ferritin level per se is not of concern. The level reflects the degree of inflammation.

Judge severity: Since you have lupus, that's by far the most likely cause.  I would guess your doctor wants a biopsy not to confirm the diagnosis, but to judge its severity. Ask her!

Not clear: The ultrasound waves for the exam are not pain producing. The pressure required to study the kidneys may cause discomfort. The pain may be in the kidney such as infection or obstruction, however, structures in the vicinity such as overlying muscles may also be painful during the exam. Consult your doctor regarding the persistent pain.

had a ctpa w/ contrast yesterday and now my lower back/kidneys are aching..is it possible i'm having renal failure or this a side effect from contrast?

Side effects possibl: Contrast can cause kidney side effects. If you are having decreased urination, increased thirst, increased fatigue then go to the ER.
