A member asked:

My urinalysis can back more than 10 epithelial cell (non renal). what does that mean?

The epithelial layer is the outermost layer of any tissue. There are epithelial cells lining the inside of the ureters that are exposed to urine passing by as it travels to the bladder, the inside of the bladder, and inside of the outlet. These cells ware out and shed into the urine. By itself it is a normal finding. Please discuss any of your concerns with the doc who ordered the test.

That finding is common and those cells are shedding from your bladder or genital tract (vaginal mucosa). There is nothing to concern. Take care.
