Questionable: Doctors will use it in that dosage for 7-10 days to try and induce lactation.  We do that mostly because there really isn't any other medication or treatment available and it's worth a try.  I would not use the medication for longer than 10 days - if it hasn't worked by then it's not going go.

DO NOT USE!!: Reglan (metoclopramide) has a Black Box Warning from the FDA. This is only used when a drug poses serious side effects. Reglan (metoclopramide)
can cause tardive dyskinesia. The internet and chat rooms
are filled with discussions of supplements or medications to  increase breast milk. Most don't work or are outright dangerous. It makes no sense to treat yourself AND YOUR BABY with medication for a non-illness.

Not likely: Dyskinesia is more of an acute side effect of medications such as Reglan (metoclopramide).  It would be highly unlikely that you are having persistent symptoms 5 years later.  A thorough history and physical examination may be needed to address the cause of your twitches.

how much shud be the dose of thorazine & reglan (metoclopramide) to treat hiccups. how long should i be taking them if the hiccups dont stop. diabetes is controlled.

2 to 3 days: Thorazine (chlorpromazine) - 25-50 mg every 6-8hr; if hiccups persist after 2-3 days of oral therapy, see your doctor for possible intramuscular or slow intravenous Thorazine (chlorpromazine).
Reglan 10 mg every 6 - 8 hours

my father is diabetic but as of now controlled.he has been having frequent hiccups since 2 days.can he take thorazine & reglan (metoclopramide). if yes what dose.help.

Yes: Both thorazine and reglan (metoclopramide) are treatments for hiccups. Would start with one or the other, probably reglan (metoclopramide) (fewer side effects) in a low dose such as 5 or 10 mg three times per day. If reglan (metoclopramide) ineffective could try thorazine or possibly Compazine

bloodwork normal, upper endo normal.gi put me on reglan 5mg three times daily for a month to test for gastroparesis. no insurance, motility test too expensive. is this dose safe? how quickly will td set in if i am sensitive to this drug?

: Yes, it is safe, only 1/2 of the usual dose. If you respond to the medication you should see the improvement in the next 24-48 hours. However, if there is minimal or no improvement, dose should be doubled, 10 mg q 6-8 hours for a couple days before deciding the trial fails.

Possibly: Reglan (metoclopramide) has been used for nausea as well as to increase GI motility - it is effective, but has some potentially dangerous side effects.   Most physicians seldom use it long term.

Reglan (metoclopramide): Hi, Why are you taking Reglan (metoclopramide) for? Is it for nausea or the stomach motility issue  or GERD? If that's for Motility issue or GERD you should take it before meal, otherwise you can take it whenever necessary for nausea/vomiting.
