More info: If you are asking if it is ok to take 1000mg Vitamin C tabs, yes, that is ok for most people (I take them myself actually).  Our bodies get rid of the Vitamin C we don’t use so it is impossible to overdose, though some people get stomach irritation with too much.  VitC is a good antioxidant, helps immune system, &amp; aids wound healing, though the best dose is uncertain.

No: Most people reach their maximum height in their late teens. Without nutritional problems or chronic childhood illnesses, height in the U.S. is largely based on genetics and parental heights. Aside from eating right, exercising, sleeping well, and being happy, there's not much anyone can do to increase height. Extra vitamins don't increase height in normal American kids.

: No, it is not too much but it may not be necessary if you have a typical American diet which is often not deficient in vitamin C. In general, taking 250 mg of vitamin C a day is harmless but I still advise my patients so stay away if they have history of kidney stone. In contrast, for patients who take iron pill for iron deficiency then I advise taking a small dose of vitamin C supplement.

REALLY many things: You may not feel different day to day taking vitamin c but it has great value as an antioxidant & helps prevent & treat many illnesses, including asthma, allergies, cardiovascular disease, strokes, a wide variety of cancers, cataracts, glaucoma, complications of diabetes, parkinson's disease & complications of pregnancy. Why so much: There's no clear benefit to such high doses.  In the end, this is a water soluble vitamin so you're unlikely to run into problems, as you should pee most of the extra out.  But, at least for men, high dose vitamin C has been shown to increase the risk of kidney stones.  You're probably better of keeping the dose in the range of 1000mg or less to be safe.

24 hours at most: Vitamin c is a water-soluble vitamin. It is absorbed into the bloodstream from the intestine, distributes evenly throughout the circulation, and is then excreted into the urine through the kidneys.  Zinc is slightly more complicated, but should also pass into your urine rather quickly, and it should be basically gone within a few hours. I'd say it is a safe assumption that both are gone in 24h.

Age and vit c: In this age group it is better to use the natural fruits and vegetable resources of vit c and use a liquid formulation of vit c but that also not daily, maybe 2-3 x per week.

I would not: count on experiencing significant skin lightening with  oral vitamin C.
