my 4 year old has one red dot in her eye x 2 days. what could it be? do i need to take her to a doctor?

I suppose you mean : On the white of the eye. This usually represents a broken capillary on the globe surface that broke & leaked blood after a cough or sneeze. It may take a week or more to fade given the minimal number of capillaries in the area to carry away the stain. If you're concerned this may not be it an exam would tell. During regular office hours.

my 4 year old has very bright redness under his eyes and on his cheeks.  he had his tdap and mmrv vaccines 7 days ago.  are these related?

Probably not : If he was has having a reaction to the Tdap the time frame is off. It usually occurs 4hrs - 48 hrs post dose. For the MMRV vaccine that is a live virus vaccine. So if you're getting a reaction it would be because you're having a viremia 7-9 days post dose. There might be associated symptoms such as little vesicles around injection site, runny nose, fever,etc. if worried see his doc.

It happens: This can be a sign of early eye infection (viral,bacterial) or a reaction to airborne pollen/irritants.

Need more info: If the white of the eyes is red and there is discharge, it is conjunctivitis, or pink eye, which is a viral or bacterial infection and usually treated with prescription eye drops.    If there is redness and swelling of just the eyelid with a pimple, that is consistent with a stye or hordeolum and warm compresses help to resolve.  An exam would be very helpful and recommended.

Itchy Allergic: The itchiness you describe and bilateral ( two sided) nature, as well as the time of year certainly would be associated with allergic cause.  She is old enough for claritin (loratadine) 5 mg reditab as a trial medicine.  If she's not better within the week, I'd have her looked at by her pediatrician or we are happy to consult here on prime!

: Your actions are up to you. Such low grade fevers are common to many self healing viruses but this may be a prelude to something requiring treatment. The eyes are a common entry point for some viruses but may also be the location of an emerging local infection with drainage. If the kid eats/drinks/plays normally I would just monitor. If this stops consider a visit.

Corneal edema?: This may be from corneal edema. However in the absence of itching, allergy is unlikely.  If problem persists for more than a couple of days or gets worse, bring him to the eye doctor.

Hard to assess: The two issues are likely a coincidence. The actual cause or label for the type of bump would require a direct visual exam if not some testing. If it bothers you have the kid seen.

Treat the cause : keep him away from puppy and swollen eyes will get better. You can keep puppy outdoors if that is samina naqshbandi option. Otherwise you can try keeping indoors but not in bedroom nor have direct contact. This may suffice at least for the near future

Allergies: From your description, your son may have allergic conjunctivitis. Rinse his eyes gently with saline, provide a children's antihistamine, and avoid common triggers. These include avoidance of dust, mold, pollen, pets. Avoid all smoke exposure, and please see your PCP for allergy testing. If there is thick drainage, fever, rash, peeling skin, please see a physician right away.
