Allergies: From your description, your son may have allergic conjunctivitis. Rinse his eyes gently with saline, provide a children's antihistamine, and avoid common triggers. These include avoidance of dust, mold, pollen, pets. Avoid all smoke exposure, and please see your PCP for allergy testing. If there is thick drainage, fever, rash, peeling skin, please see a physician right away.
