i had surgery with general anesthesia 1 week ago.  i woke up with sore throat & sometimes i could feel my uvula.  now, there is white tip and redness.

Pharyngitis: Pharyngitis is  an infection  of the pharynx or tonsils . The cause is usually infectious, with most cases being of viral origin and most bacterial cases attributable to group A streptococci. It is difficult to distinguish viral and bacterial causes of pharyngitis on the basis of signs and symptoms alone. Doctor does  strep test to diagnose strep throat. Viral pharyngitis does not need antibiotics

Numbness of face...: Not general anesthesia, but the securing the airway or the head/face position. Probably, the use of the lma compressed some nerves deep into the walls of the throat or base of the tongue. Sometimes the facial nerve can get compressed by using a mask strap (bucal branch). It is rarely on both sides. Most will go away in several days. If not, consult your doctor or a neurologist.

Not really: General anesthesia sometimes involves a breathing tube or airway device that may cause numbness to the tongue but not the face.

: Some "facelifts" are relatively simple suspension procedures with redundant facial skin pulled up from behind the hair line on both sides of the face.  A "deep plane" face lift is a more complicated undermining of the facial skin, and the resulting scar tissue may be difficult to repeat once the remaining skin is stretched with aging.  Obtain a consult with a facial plastic surgeon for guidance.

No: You need a dentist who is gentle and takes his time. Muscle relaxants or benzodiazepens may help.

my mom had lots of surgeries in her life. no reaction to general anesthesia ever. lately last 2 surgeries/procedures my mom had she either had a hard time waking up or her face swelled up. can allergies just happen years later? is this likely genetic?

: Not all anesthetic drugs, whether inhaled or given IV are the same. New ones come along &amp; add to the list of those available. Facial swelling is not by itself specific to any product, but may reflect a reaction to the material that came in contact with her face during any part of the procedure. It would be good to report the reaction to the treating physician. They can track down a likely cause.

i have been having random facial flushing (redness on face), im on metoprolol, losarton, atorvastatin, amitriptyline & blisovi fe 1/20 birth control and dealing with pkdcan any of them cause facial flushing? or why i would have it occurring?

: Flushed face is not a known side effect of the noted medications &amp; not a symptom of PKD; however, med side effect can't be ruled out. The temporal relationship between that symptom and the starting time of each medication may be helpful in defining the causal relationship and you should track that down. If sx is of recent onset &amp; meds have been used for months or years, meds aren't the culprit.
