Yes.this is a bruise: that will resolve over the next two weeks called a sub-conjunctival hemorrhage.Looks terrible but is harmless.if not slowly resolving over next 2 wks,have a professional take a look.

Possible: A subconjuctival hemorrhage is common, usually after cough or sneeze spells and should clear by itself in few days. Other conditions such as conjunctivitis or scleritis are possible as well and persistence of the eye changes should prompt a visit with your GP for an exam.

It : It is a benign condition that frequently occurs from any kind of strain, such as coughing, lifting anything heavy, sneezing, even rubbing the eye.  People with high blood pressure as well as patients on blood thinners are at higher risk.  There is nothing to do other than wait for the blood clot to dissolve on its own.  However, if this recurs multiple times, you must be evaluated for clotting disorders.  Hope this helps!

Subconjunctival hem: Subconjunctival hemorrhage is common. Typically this will resolve, but may take up to two weeks. If no visual problems typically no need to be seen.  However, if concern about vision get checked.
