About 1/4 of adults don't digest milk sugar, leaving it as food for gas producing germs. Many vegetables &amp; other food items are not fully digested by humans (&amp;feed germs). Avoiding milk &amp;or a food diary to see what makes you gassy may help.

Also  caloric requirement of about 1200 calories is very easily met with caloric dense foods &amp; fruit juices. Child usually remains active and has no loss of weight -this wld be reassuring. Lots of gas may herald onset of lactose intolerance. Best wld be to have him examined.

Flatulence: Excessive flatulence can be from eating gas forming roughage but can also be a sign of lactose intolerance. If you have very uncomfortable gaseous distension, drink hot(not too hot) water and apply a hot water bottle to the abdomen which breaks down the gas. Take simethicone after meals to prevent gas build up. Experiment with your diet to find offending foods or try taking lactaid for milk foods.

Redundant colon: Describes a large intestine longer than normal with repetitive, overlapping loops. This is a normal anatomic variation that causes no symptoms and needs no treatment. It may be discovered by x-ray done for other reasons. Rarely, it causes a serious complication if it twists around itself (volvulus).

You're ill: Probably it is nothing major - perhaps something you ate or a flu - but it is impossible to diagnose you w/out an exam and perhaps lab tests. You'd know if you ate anything unusual or if others you ate w/ also feel ill. You'd know if this is very unusual for you or if you have a tendency for GI symptoms. Eat bland, soft. Drink water! Have an exam if you still feel bad in a few days. Best!
