Tenesmus: Rectal tenesmus is a clinical symptom in which there is a feeling of constantly needing to pass stools despite an empty colon. It is often the sign of an inflammatory condition of the colon and this can be infectious or non-infectious. Should be seen by a doctor for diagnosis and possible therapy.
