i believe i have shingles . two rash sites on my chest. they itch very bad. do not respond to steroid cream or other creams?

: Shingles will almost always one sided, have collection of vesicles (small water blisters on a res base of skin). Often associated with burning or sharp pain sensations. Typically follow a strip of skin.

rash near anus? 2nd occurrence this year both when sick. painfull deep sores that start with bumps and turns into pitted painful sores near anus and inside labia. red/swollen on one side of anus. does not respond to anti fung, steroid cream or?

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. The lesions may be recurrent anal fissures, infected anal warts, infected external hemorrhoids or a manifestation of Crohn's disease.  It would be prudent to see a doctor. Wish you good health!

what can i treat an elbow rash with that doesn't burn or itch but doesn't respond to prescription steroid creams or elidel? besides eczema what could this be? it's been here since june?

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests.  Since the rash has not responded to steroid creams it would be prudent to see a doctor, preferably a dermatologist.

how long and how often can be combiderm applied to cure neck rashes? not itchy. i am very cautious in taking steroid creams but my gp prescribed.

Work with your doctor: Combiderm consists of Betamethasone Dipropionate, Clotrimazole, Gentamicin. Take some pictures of your rash. Then use cream as directed by GP for 2 weeks.
Take new pictures. Compare to prior pictures. If no improvement go back to doctor. Or set up. Dermatology visit. Good luck.

rashes on neck(not butterfly) gone after use of steroid cream( 5 days), ana ifa positive, pattern :homogeneous, titer : 1:80h, should i be worried?

Accepted Answer

No: A titer of 1:80 is borderline at best and is likely unrelated. However, if the rash is recurrent see a dermatologist and have it biopsied. Then you will know for certain.

why does it seem like my rash is spreading? with some areas being way worse than others? mydoc gave metopical steroid cream- that doesn't seem to work

Depends on : What the rash is from.   But if spreading that much a quick 6 days oral pulse pack of steroid might be considered

Calamine lotion: Calamine lotion is the most commonly used.

prescribed steroid cream for my rash. didn't realize until after applying, it had pus oozing from it. i wiped it off and applied peroxide. is this ok?

Accepted Answer

Change of plan: If there is pus, you may have an infection and steroids may make it worse at this point. Please see your doctor for a physical evaluation, as you may require antibiotics at this point. Applying peroxide is okay in the interim. Please see your doctor.
