i have the flu and i am wondering what the chances of getting pneumonia or bronchitis because of the flu rare?

It's possible: Influenza itself can cause an inflammation of the lungs that shows up on xrays, which may be called "pneumonia".  It can also injure the cells lining the airways, allowing for a stapylococcal (classically) or other bacteria to infect the lungs.   These can be fairly severe processes and may require hospitalization or even ICU care.  However this is fairly uncommon.

It depends whether: it is diffuse(i.e. involving the whole lung) or focal pleural thickening.  It would be exceedingly rare for bacterial pneumonia to cause diffuse pleural thickening, but relatively common to cause focal pleural thickening and/or effusion as a reaction to the adjacent infection.

Consultation: In this case collaboration with your physician or,pulmonologist and the radiologist is important in determining whether your xray findings explain the lymphadenopathy. Further studies like a ct scan and or follow-up chest xrays and their timing are important questions to be answered. This is a somewhat complicated pneumonia.

DIP: This is a specific type of lung disease that is indeed rare.  A certain kind of cell (macrophage) accumulates in the airspaces of the lungs and can cause inflammation.  It is highly associated with cigarette smoking (>90%).  If diagnosed fairly early (before scarring/fibrosis develop), the prognosis can be good with treatment , but smoking cessation is critical to a good outcome.
