Pneumonia: Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs causes by bacteria or virus. Bacterial pneumonia is more common in community and needs antibiotics . The prognosis depends on various factors like, immunity, age, severity of pneumonia, associated medical conditions like other lung disease, smoking, diabetes etc. the patient will need to see a doctor for exam , investigation and treatment.

It depends...: Most pneumonia n '"older" people is bacterial. Vaccines may HELP prevent it, but appropriate antibiotics are nec if you get it. If you're younger with milder sx's you may have walking/atypical PNA, which responds to diff antibiotics. There is also viral PNA, if the virus is known we MAY have tx to ease the course. Most viruses only have support. No matter the type may need supportive treatment.

Pneumonia: Pneumonia cure depends on the cause. If suspected to be caused by bacteria , antibiotics can help cure . If due to virus then only mostly symptomatic treatment is recommended like oxygen and body has to fight it out but in certain cases antiviral medication are also prescribed. Antifungals will help if onetime is caused by a fungus.
