i'm 46 and in a wheelchair due to idiopathic neuropathy but otherwise healthy. i'm able to stand 2-3 times a day. i've noticed my feet have been swelling during the day. should i be concerned?

If it hurts. : Usually walking pumps vein circulation through muscle contraction.   No walking no pumping so gravity causing some swelling.   If it is painful,  doctor could help with diuretics.   Otherwise you'll be fine.   Special compression stocking also option.

i am in a wheelchair and have charcot-marie-tooth disease if i don' constantly move my feet get swollen i am already on diuretics what can i do?

Edema: Normally, swelling is avoided by the muscular contraction of our legs with walking. To the extent that you can't walk, you will accumulate normal fluid in your legs. A diuretic helps cosmetically but actually isn't good for you as it dehydrates all tissues non-selectively. The best you can do is: keep your legs elevated as much as possible,  support hose, and accept the swelling.

my mother is in a wheelchair. but is completely mobile. her feet hang from her chair or are folded in her lap most of the time. she recently developed a large, quarter size or better, clear blister. it is noticeably growing daily. it sticks up probably 1/

Question???: Your question was cut off, but if your mother is mobile, than why the wheelchair?  Have her see her Dr. and try to get her up and moving more, as long as she is not a fall risk, as Immobility will crtainly increase your risk for Ulceration.  Best wishes.

herniated disc means i am unable to walk due to weakness and pain in right leg and foot , i am on lots of medication but nothing stops the weakness and i am having to use a wheelchair for getting around or crutches for less than fifty metres, can anything

Surgery?: You sound as if you need to have steroid injection or even surgery contact a neurologist.

If : If the doctor is giving you choices, then it may be possible to heal without surgery.  It completely depends on the x-rays. Casting was done much more frequently in the past, but now with surgery, you can do earlier range of motion of your ankle, and perhaps line up the bones a little bit better.

Go to the Doctor: You need to be seen at the doctor urgently. You do not need to go to the er, but you must get in to be examined by your family physician or a neurologist urgently.

Train harder: Foot size has nothing to do with how fast you run.
If you want to run distance - long slow runs
if you want to run faster - i recommend interval training.

Support: If your feet flatten (pronate) excessively, the foot is not a stable platform.  Muscles have to work harder, ligaments and tendons get stretched, and bones receive more force causing pain.

Make sure your running shoes are in good shape and give good cushion and support.  You might need to add some arch supports to them.  

If doing these things do not help, see a podiatrist.
