Pancreatitis: what are your triglycerides? if they are over 400 that might contribute. Are you diabetic? Also it can take time for everything to calm down even though you have made some changes

When you quit smoking, your body can go through some hormonal changes that can be associated with flushing, cold and warm sensations. Please be patient and everything will settle down. Your symptoms are not related to celebrex (celecoxib) withdrawal. Be proud of your new achievements.

Delayed sleep phase: syndrome in adults is treated from 2 weeks - 3 months with 6 mg. of Melatonin taken ½ hour -1 hour before desired bedtime. Melatonin is taken by adults for many reasons, in doses up to 20 mg./day. Mood changes are not reported side effects of Melatonin. Stop it if you wish. If your symptoms persist, seek referral to a psychiatrist &amp; a psychologist for accurate diagnosis &amp; treatment.

Smoking mostly: I am not aware of any evidence that consumption of alcohol will change the voice in the absence of smoking, but since heavy smokers are often heavy drinkers, and alcohol increases the toxicity of cigarette smoke, there can be more inflammation in people who do both. Think of Selma Diamond's rough raspy voice as the end-stage of smoking related changes in voice. Consider quitting!!

Chantix : Discuss this with your family doc. Chantix is one approach which has helped many people stop tobacco, but not your only option. I applaud your efforts and while you still need to have that dr. Visit, try cutting down just 1 cigarette daily. You will be weaned within 3 weeks.

Healing after Cigs..: I would first tell him a hearty congratulations.  And, second give my opinion that no this is not a permanent change.  When one is smoking the natural anti-inflammatory part of healing does not work well in the tissues of the throat and trachea.  It can take several months after stopping smoking to clean out all of the tar and toxic stuff in the lungs to get to normal. But, he is on his way!

Usually but depends: on what damage the smoking has already done. In some smokers, the vocal cords become scarred or develop nodules and hoarseness may persist.  Most of the time it is chronic inflammation and this heals, with time. It will also depend on how long and how much you smoked, what kind of cigarettes, and your own biology and predisposition to smoking-related damage. Congratulations and stay quit!!!
