Reactive airways: The cigarette smoke likely irritated your airways and caused them to constrict. The constriction is likely why you had difficulty breathing. You may be exposed to other environmental factors that also bother your lungs and can consider seeing an allergist for both pulmonary function tests and/or allergy tests. Probably not a good idea to smoke in the future. Good luck.

Congratulations : Congratulations on quitting smoking! that's probably the single best thing you can do to make a positive impact on your health.  The first couple weeks can be tough, so hang in there!

as far as the tea goes, as long as your 5-6 cups a day are about 8 oz a piece, there should not be any problems. The main issue with tea is that it contains caffeine and other compounds that can act as diuretics making you urinate more and can be dehydrating. Uncaffeinated and decaffeinated teas cause less of a problem. Tea also contains half the caffeine as coffee so by quitting coffee you are consuming less caffeine which helps.

If drinking your tea helps to keep you from smoking, then by all means, drink your tea!  tea drinking is much much healthier than smoking.

As far as the tea goes, as long as your 5-6 cups a day are about 8 oz a piece, there shouldn't be any problems.  The main issue with tea is that it contains caffeine and other compounds that can act as diuretics making you urinate more and can be dehydrating.  Uncaffeinated and decaffeinated teas cause less of a problem.  Tea also contains half the caffeine as coffee so by quitting coffee you are consuming less caffeine which helps.  The other issue many people have with tea is that they add tons of sugar as a sweetener and end up drinking hundreds more calories a day leading to weight gain.  This does not appear to be an issue for you which is good.

If drinking your tea helps to keep you from smoking, then by all means, drink your tea!

Check out free smoking cessation programs online, like american lung association, or contact your state's free quit line. If you quit cold turkey, set a date. Beforehand throw out all your smoking stuff. If you need help, ask your pharmacist or doctor about medications. It usually takes more than one try. Don't give up!

Avoid: Have you tried the nicotine patch or gum?
There are prescription medicines that can also help to reduce/ eliminate the craving.
Also consider what brings about the craving- is it a particular time of day, is it stress?
Try to avoid , if possible, the situations which increase the cravings.

Medication: Chantix is a medicine that has shown great success in this area. Wellbutrin (bupropion) , to a lesser degree. See your psychiatrist for that.

Self help/group tx.: This is hard to do since your boss smokes too, but depending on your schedule, if you don't have to be around your boss on every break, take it elsewhere.  Also the rest of your day you can try to quit.  If there is still trouble self-help groups, like nicotine anonymous and stomp it out may help.

Probably: There is no reason to believe it will work any differently the third time you try it.  I presume it helped you quit the previous two times or you wouldn't be thinking of trying it again. I don't believe there is any data suggesting that is a bad idea to try again, especially if it is has been some time, a few months, since you last used it. If you think it is your best shot, go for it!

You can not: Flush your system of cannabis. Attempts to do so will be picked up by the test which is quite sophisticated.
