i wanted to get any opinions of quest diagnostics reliability?

Good: Quest has been around a long time and they seem to be pretty reliable.  If you have a question about some test they have done, ask your doctor if it can be repeated elsewhere as a quality control measure.

as of 3/9/19 my absolute neutrophils is 1291 based on the quest diagnostics range 1500-7800. 8/18/2018  results were 1451 same as range. no symptoms ?

Do not worry: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, if you do not have symptoms, do not worry. This may be your normal.

just got positive result back from hiv rna test - 1.5mil copies per m/l. exposure on 8/12. had negative duo tests at 15, 19, 27, 32, 40, 50 and 60 days. tests done at quest diagnostics. how is this even possible? did quest not process my tests?!??

: Multiple possible explanations. You need to repeat the HIV RNA test. The positive HIV RNA result may be from a different more recent exposure. Get in touch with a doctor to sort out things.

Yes, conclusive: Truly 100% conclusive after 45 days, but 41 days almost always is long enough.

tomato allergy confirmed by quest diagnostics bloodwork. should i be tested for other related foods or allergies? if so, which ones?

Tomato allergy: The Quest diagnostic test measures IgE anitbody in your blood that binds to protien/allergen isolated from a tomato.  It does not prove allergy insomuch as it proves that you have a higher level of this antibody compared with the general public. Food allergy needs to be addressed/diagnosed by an Allergist.  If true, you need to carry an epipen (epinephrine).  Would not rec empiric testing to other foods.

i had a routine/standard cbc with diffs from quest diagnostics. would it detect abnormal cells if they were present or do you need to order a specific test for that?

Usually: Although much of the tests are automated at these big labs the system is sensitive enough to flag unusual results so the medical director can review them. The ordering doctor will also review them in the context of why they were ordered in the first place. If they want additional testing they can order them.

i took a drug test labeled 35533n sap 5-50/300 gc/ms from quest diagnostics. what do all these numbers represent? what drugs are screened?

Drug Test: you would need to have access to the order catalog from Quest to answer your question. This is likely the number by which the test materials themselves are ordered.  You should be able to get the results of what was tested by request of the facility or organization that tested you.

very good morning doctors. i had a urinalysis. my uacr is 62. quest diagnostics refers to any number between 30 & 299 as "moderately increased." microalbinuria. my urine protein is 1+ how doctors treat this? can i do anything to try to lower this?

: You should see your doctor and a renal profile done as you may have early kidney disease. Good Luck

good evening doctors. i'm confused. i am a 62 year-old male. my egfr is 62, which according to quest diagnostics laboratories range, is normal (anything greater than 60). according to the kidney websites it is not normal. please advise who is correct?

: Great question! eGFR less than 90 cc/min is stage 2 CKD by kidney website but it does not specify the age. Kidney function is naturally declining when people get older so if you have eGFR of 62 cc/min at 62 years old and there is no evidence of kidney disease such as abnormal kidney ultrasound/urine test, your function is normal. Quest's reference range shouldn't apply to people younger than 60.
