Severe dehydration: If a baby has delayed diagnosis of pyloric stenosis the baby may have profound dehydration and metabolic alkalosis.   Thankfully with directed rehydration over hours to days this can be corrected and then the baby can undergo surgery to repair the problem.

Follow advice: Now that the scariest part is over, it is important that you follow your post-op instructions to the letter (these should have been provided to you upon discharge, if not, contact your surgeons office for a copy), keep your follow up appointment, and watch for symptoms of stenosis recurrence (this is uncommon, but CAN happen).

Yes: Pyloric stenosis does always require surgery.As time passes the muscle become more and more developed and less and less can leave the stomach into the intestine. Without surgery, the baby will vomit, eventually dehydrate and become critical. Early detection and surgery makes the abnormality easier to treat. Few day recovery.

1º 4 weeks of life: The most striking symptom of pyloric stenosis is vomiting, sometimes so forceful it is projectile, going several feet from the baby. This in turn causes dehydration and electrolyte imbalance
the average is about 3 weeks but it can be seen as far as 6 weeks of life. It is more common in firstborn boys and can be seen in families, it can happen in 3 out of 1000 babies.

Which scar: i assume you are talking about the abdominal wall scar. there will be no effect other than having a different looking scar and hopefully more pleasing to you.

is spasticity curable to an extent? ive only been recently aware of a diagnoses as a baby of this. can pressure be relieve so i can live a normal life? i can walk and talk just very tight person, can all this rigidity affect my mental capabilities?

: There are available treatments for spasticity, but they modify/reduce the intensity they do not cure it. Some involve meds and others are surgical.  Pre-occupation with any health condition can reduce a persons' functional capacity by distracting them from other pursuits. A life coach that teaches relaxation &amp; stress management may be a worthwhile investment.

After: Stretches and warm ups, over a exercise ball you do facing down, reverse sit ups, or find a machine at the gym that serves similar purpose.
