Well.....: I can answer only with assumption  that these purple spots are not a patologic entity/lesions... And they have been there for ever.. Which means they are normal pigmentation of the gingiva, and can be seen more in african american individuals, or some people with darker tone of skin. These normal pigmentations could be corrected with a procerdure called "gum bleaching" ; in different ways.

Swollen gums: There are several reasons for swollen gums. ie; bacteria under gums, mouth breather, medications, pregnancy gingivitis, clenching teeth etc.. xrays and an exam can help us determine the problem. It can also be viral, see you're dentist or physician soon.

Exam, Laser?: First, it is important to have your black spots checked to make sure it is normal and just a cluster of pigments. People with darker skins (genetically, not from tanning) often have darker spots on the gums. However it is best to get them checked. If they are normal pigmentations, but you want them lighter, laser treatment may help. Ask a dentist who is trained in laser treatment.

Dark Spot: Without knowing the exact location of the "dark spot", the condition of the surrounding teeth, the periodontal status of those teeth, and your social habits like smoking, it is hard to say exactly what that lesion is. If it has been more than two weeks since it has appeared and it has not resolved, please see a local dentist for evaluation. No pain does not mean no treatment needed.

Be patient: Do you smoke? Consume much alcohol?  These are 2 major bad influences but try to be patient.  There is no way to be sure of anything until you get the biopsy back there is even a chance that if it was bad they have removed it all at the time they did the biopsy.  Waiting is never easy.

Get checked: get checked by a dentist, rule out unresolved infection in the bone associated with the extracted wisdom tooth, or perhaps infection from an adjacent tooth draining to the extraction site.  Alternatively, it could be either bone from the extraction site or even tooth structure that fractured during the extraction.

No: That could be an abscess forming from a decayed tooth that got infected , see a dentist for treatment , usually be either taking that tooth out or having root canal treatment done to preserve the tooth and restore it.

i have a dark red spot on my gums tight near the tooth. i haven't had any pain or been uncomfortable in anyway. i got up this morning, got ready and didn't even notice it when i brushed my teeth. i continued on and went to eat a crunchy snack and it hurt
