does pilocarpine drop constrict the dialated pupil completely to the normal or does it shows very less constriction. how to verify if the drops work?

Miosis: Topical Pilocarpine is a pupillary constrictor. In a normal pupil the Pilocarpine will make the pupil smaller than normal. If the pupil has been previously dilated it will not necessarily constrict the pupil to normal or smaller. It depends on what dilated your pupil. Some dilating agents like Atropine are not reversed by pilocarpine. Weaker agents like mydriacl will be slowly over-come by pilo.

Yes: cholinesterase inhibitors for topical use in glaucoma treatment enhance the effect of endogenously liberated acetylcholine in iris, ciliary muscle, and other parasympathetically innervated structures of the eye. It thereby causes miosis, increase in facility of outflow of aqueous humor, fall in intraocular pressure, and potentiation of accommodation.

: Mild pupillary size asymmetry is not unusual, and would not represent any reason for concern.  Your medications have no influence on your pupils.  If this is troubling you, contact your  eye doctor and get an updated exam.

: Your question is not entirely understandable. Medications that dilate the pupil can precipitate acute glaucoma in a person with a narrow angle. It would be prudent to seek guidance from your ophthalmologist who knows your eye health better.

in the same lightning should peoples pupils be similar size? my pupils dilate & are huge compared to others in slightly dim light. doctors have commented too. no drugs. no medication. but do have intracranial hypertension. is this the cause?
