i have had an ache, pulsating, tender pain in my lower right abdomen for a few weeks now. sometimes it radiates to my back and sometimes down to my groin. i have normal bowel movements. my period came back after 5 days just for 1 day. whats going on?

An MD can help u : Are you saying it occurs more often with an  irregular menstrual cycle? If so it very well could be related.  Endometriosis, ovarian, uterine issues can all give you that pain.  As can pregnancy.  Does it feel like period cramps?  How long does it last ?  Do certain foods make it worse.  Have you tried any meds?  Does a bowel movement make it worse? Better?  Constipation, muscle strrains, herniae.

Generalized abdominal pain which "settles" in the right lower abdomen is pretty "classical"for acute APPENDICITIS.  Not to alarm you but you need to go to an ER for evaluation if your PCP (Primary Care Provider) is unavailable now!

Not an aneurysm: This is not the area that one would experience pin with and aneurysm and you are much too young to worry about one. Things that might present with pain in this area at your age include a hernia,appendicitis or ovarian pain such as pain experienced with ovulation at mid cycle

But when someone complains of right lower quadrant pain, we always worry about appendicitis, especially if nausea/vomiting, fevers/sweats/chills, pain w/movement, pain that originally started around belly button. Mittleschmerz: Sounds like mittleschmerz. Does it come generally mid-way between periods? If so it might be the egg, accompanied by a few drops of irritating blood, ejected from the ovary during the mid-cycle; to make way down the fallopian tube to uterus, and there to be fertilized.

Possibly, but...: Lower right abdomen discomfort can be due to one of many causes. For that location appendicitis is always a concern (pain usually worsens over time, with fever coming on). If one is constipated for several days, stool can back up all the way to the right side and cause pressure. Kidney, testicular, nerve, or muscular problems can also cause discomfort. A primary care or an ER doctor can evaluate.

Home screening: If you double over in pain while attempting to hop on your right leg you likely need to go in to the ER. If you cannot walk upright without amplifying pain, you need to go in. If neither bothers you the issue can be monitored at home.
