prescribed plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) for p.a.- mild psoriasis + other conditions+strong fam history, what are chances of severe psoriasis outbreak from drug? thanks!

I am not sure what : P.A. is. I personally do not use plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) for psoriasis as it has been link with causing flare or outbreak for psoriasis. I would recommend to choose other DMARDs or biological esp there are a lot of choices now.

Psoriasis Flare: There are a number of medications that can exacerbate psoriasis: lithium, beta blockers, corticosteroids, antimalarials, alcohol, nsaids, ace inhibitors, gold salts and interferon.

Psoriasis: Immunomodulator drugs (biologics). Several immunomodulator drugs are approved for the treatment of moderate to severe psoriasis. They include , Etanercept (enbrel), Infliximab (remicade) and ustekinumab (stelara) & humira (adalimumab). These drugs are given by intravenous infusion, intramuscular injection or subcutaneous injection and are usually used for people who have failed to respond to traditional rx.

No one pill for ills: If you have psoriasis you have an upset immune system. You may want to try looking to causes like leaky gut and food sensitivities rather than the ineffective western approach of "treating" the symptoms.

i have psoriasis and body acke. my doc prescribed for me vimovo 500mg/20mg but i read that the drugs contain very bad side effects like high risk of death etc any advice please? thank you?

Speak with doc: Not certain what you read but the contents are sold OTC as naproxen  and esomeprosol is similar to OTC agents. This is not harmful unless you are allergic, have asthma, are on blood thinners or take for prolonged periods of time, do,discuss with your doc because you sought some relief and your doc thought thus drug would,help. There are other options that could be offered if needed.

Many anti cancer-: -drugs, especially immunosuppressive drugs. Immuran is common. Ur rheumatologist who knows Ur specific case can best answer this. Many times a cocktail of drugs R used in recalcitrant cases.

: Psoriasis is a complex disease. I would go to uptodate.Com and read all about it including non pill treatments. There are several including coal tire oil and sun light but discuss with your team. Subscribing to uptodate is about $60 first month or you can subscribe for a year for about $1 per day. Check it out.

is it possible that me having plaque psoriasis can cause hair not to grow? it has been like this for 2 years and my hair doesn't grow and i am bald on my temples. also can it affect a hair drug test? with it not growing out?

: You should discuss this problem with the dermatologist who treats you. By my limited knowledge about this condition, hair loss with plaque psoriasis of the scalp is reversible.
