Acetic Acid: Vinegar is not alcohol. It is Acetic Acid and can be helpful in digestion. It should be fine with isotretinoin.

Don't recommend: It. Any alcohol in the vinegar can be absorbed through the rectum.

Ear wax: Its safe as long as you don't have an ear infection.  I was once tought a similar formula by an ENT friend of mine. He said mix equal parts of hydrogen peroxide, white vinegar, and rubbing alcohol together right before using.  Place 3-5 drops in each ear a couple of times per week and you won't have ear wax problems.  Hope this helps.

Safe: I can find no reports of interactions of vinegar and accutane. As long as you only use a small amount of rice vinegar the amount of alcohol will be too small to have any negative effect.

Why?: I am not sure that there would be severe side effects but why would you do this?  I assume you are talking about using rubbing alcohol and this is VERY drying. The vinegar is an acid but is at a low strength but again can be drying and will not be helpful for your skin or any open sores. I would strongly reccomend against doing this .

Has no alcohol, safe: Vinegar does not contain alcohol. It has acetic acid, a very different chemical. It is very safe though should be diluted before consuming. There are no proven drug interactions; some sites say large amounts might interact with digoxin, insulin and diuretics because it can lower potassium, but it contains potassium so I doubt that. No problem, no worry: In fact, there is no problem with alcohol and metronidazole. That theoretical problem has been shown to not exist -- it's a persisting medical myth. Of course don't overdo it, but the occasional drink won't be a problem. There are no significant dietary restrictions for people taking metronidazole. I've never heard of a soy sauce problem.

Yes: There is no known interaction between Accutane and vinegar. Vinegar is made from fermented alcohol and sometimes a tiny trace of alcohol (less than 0.5%) may remain. This is not enough to interact with Accutane or harm your liver.

NO: Do not put any chemical in your ear with a perforated drum. Many chemicals are ototoxic and may lead to permanent hearing lost and/or vertigo. See an ENT doctor.

Treatment for ear: The alcohol displaces any water in the ear to prevent infection; the vinegar (acetic acid) restores the normal acid balance in the ear canal. Use caution if the eardrum (tympanic membrane) may be broken (perforated); see fp or ENT in such cases.
