YEs it can: Vomiting blood can be from a number of causes including ulcers, reaction to anticoagulants, etc. Do not let this go- check with your physician as soon as possible.

Get checked: First of all, get fully evaluated. You have lots of significant health issues and these need close attention from you and your doctor. But keep in mind, pneumonia can frequently take a long time to heal completely, sometimes several months before your strength is fully restored.

74 year old father has melanoma, congestive heart failure and copd. what are the best forms of treatment?

Depends: Treatment somewhat depends on severity of co-morbid conditions, and severity and degree of heart failure.  If he has advanced heart failure stages, then the presence of very bad COPD or advanced stages of melanoma would preclude him from advanced hf strategies such as lvad treatment.  Otherwise, standard treatment with bb and acei should be attempted.

Pulmon art?: I'm not clear where the clot is - in the pulmonary artery? It would be helpful if you can ask her doctor for the exact medical terminology. That said, blood clots are generally serious. I assume your mother is receiving appropriate treatment? (anticoagulation). If she's at home, her docs must feel that her condition is stable. If in the hosp, she's in good hands.

i recently had pneumonia. i also have congestive heart failure (diastolic) and copd. i currently am extremely short of breath. xrays show i have partially collapsed lungs due to fluid. i am taking lasix every day. how else can i reinflate my lun?

: That combination of pneumonia,CHF,COPD, bilateral pleural effusions&amp; partially collapsed lungs warrant in hospital care. It appears to me that removal of large pleural fluid by strong doses of diuretics &amp; possible tapping of the chest cavities are mandatory in your treatment. It seems that the CHF is the major factor here. Proceed to the emergency room if you can't reach your MD for instructions.

Good meds and oxygen: Common in severe copd.  This is caused by pulmonary hypertension from possible hypoxia. I would rec for you to follow up with your md. Use your inhalers and have them check your oxygen levels at rest/walking and sleeping. Watch for leg swelling as well.

Heart healthy: CAD and COPD often go together. Actually in pts w/ copd, CAD is a more common cause of death than copd. So heart-healthy diet should be focus--typically avoid high fat, high salt, while eating lots of veggies, nuts, fatty fish, etc.  Although some pts w/ COPD have hard time maintaining wt, try to do so with more heart healthy foods, rather than just eating calorie-dense, heart-unhealthy food.

Does that bother u?: Next time check pulse on wrist if its regular or irregular? Does it last only upto the point of cough. It may be simple tachycardia. May not be dangerous. If the pulse is irregular, you may wanna visit a cardiologist in clinic  to get ekg done.

Asthma/copd: It is not possible without more information to know whether you have reactive airways disease or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. If you are not happy with your cardiologist, ask to change physicians.
