No, not necessarily: You are correct that unprotected sex is likely not as risky as unprotected anal or vaginal sex when it comes to HIV transmission.  Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) may reduce your risk of HIV infection significantly, but not 100%.  Thus, it is difficult to say with 100% confidence that it is safe to go ahead and have unprotected oral sex as there is likely still a very small chance of getting HIV.

Safe for HIV: All sexual activities have risks, but some are high risk and some are low risk. The only way to protect yourself 100% from STIs is to never have sex, but that's not an option for everyone. Unprotected oral sex is generally considered low risk for HIV.  Truvada (emtricitabine and tenofovir) PrEP is very good at preventing HIV.  Therefore, oral sex while taking daily Truvada (emtricitabine and tenofovir) presents a very low risk of HIV transmission.

Preventing HIV: This is a very good idea, according to experts who see HIV patients. You DEFINITELY do not want to contract that - it's a life changing infection with treatment but NO CURE. I've seen many lives ruined by it... There are bright spots though - and absolutely you should talk to your doc about all of it. You may need an ID doc or HIV specialist to put you on PrEP, since you need to be monitored on it

i took descovy (prep) for hiv prevention for almost one year. i developed sudden mild bilateral gynecomastiaand it hasnt gone away despite no longer taking nor needing the medication. i an hiv negative. is this normal ? treatment. ?

: Gynecomastia is not listed as a common side effect of Descovy.  If this was sudden onset, and did not resolve with stopping the Descovy, you should follow up with your doctor for lab tests to determine cause.

May reduce risk: Data on infant uti's in the 80's & 90's showed >90% of affected boys were uncircumcised. Much of this data was available because the infants were hospitalized. Some studies suggest a lower risk but not prevention of std's or aids. Carcinoma of the foreskin will not occur if it is removed, but the skin of the shaft remains available for cancerous change.The risk may be reduced but never eliminated.
