Propanalol and : preparation H have no interaction and are safe to co-administer so long as you are taking the prescribed dose of propranalol, and are actually certain you have a hemorrhoid.  Over 40 you should see your Primary and have a rectal exam and if you haven't had already, a screening colonoscopy.

It depends: Some patients present with complaints of hemorrhiods and they may have something as minimal as skin tags or something  as bad as a neoplasm. The vast majority will have :fissures, thrombosed external hemorrhiods, prolapsed internal hemorhriods with either itching or bleeding. Prep -h may help with these but may not other times. If persist rec see a dr.

See below: Suppository is designed to slide into anus (pointy end first). Have a high oil content so slide easily. Designed to dissolve to deliver medication (prep h-decreases swelling of hemorrhoids). Yes, leave it in-it dissolves. Shouldn't hurt but if youre tense, it can feel tight. Try some deep breaths & inserting it as you exhale. Can wear a glove or wash hands after. Ick factor is  the worst part.

i used a preparation h suppository 2 hours ago, i pooped it out 20 min later .can i use anusol suppository now or how long should i wait ? i have hbp and take metoprolol. its prescribed for me but different pharmacy filled so may not know?

3 weeks post partum. i had a 2nd degree tear and have been suffering from hemorrhoids since. is preparation h suppositories safe to take? i inserted one earlier and sinxe then i have had increased pressure on my bladder/vagina. is this related?

Call your OB MD: Your OB MD can provide a much more effective Rx for hemorrhoids than Preparation H. Placing anything in the rectum will cause increased pressure in this area post partum especially after a second degree tear.

May need surgery: See your doctor to evaluate it. Sometime external henmorrhoids (if thrombosed or clotted) need surgery to relieve the pressure and the pain.

47 male.cardio said my heart is slightly enlarged.i had high bp and cholesterol that required meds.no longer take them due to weight loss/lifestyle changes.now both are normal.will my heart decrease?

Size doesn't matter: I'm in sports training right now and my heart's big once again. The size of the heart is not a concern. I'm an autopsy pathologist, and 100% of obese people have enlarged hearts simply from carrying the weight.  Ditto if you're doing serious athletics. A large heart is no more a liability than a weight-lifter's big biceps -- it's what the enlargement is a marker for. Big or not, you've done well.

No: Prep h is a decent lubricant but has no other real benefit and certainly does not reduce body fat.

Not likely: Most fissure will respond to stool softeners, sitz baths, and a prescription cream to allow the anal muscles to relax (nifedipine). Preparation h does not usually help.

treats not cures: There are several formulations of preparation h - some products have phenylephrine, a drug that constricts blood vessels, as active ingredient, in a 0.25% concentration, others have hydrocortisone, in a 1% concentration, which reduces inflammation and swelling.  None cure hemorrhoids, but does decrease the acute discomfort and swelling.
