Will improve: These are result of change in hormones and will decrease after delivery. If they do not resolve after delivery they can be easily treated with laser or even electrosurgery. It is best to wait a few months after delivery to see how many resolve. If however any are bleeding, isolated lesions can be treated with electric needle.

Delivery: Unfortunately with the increased venous pressure created by pregnancy and the associated hormonal changes, there is no great answer to this problem.  Compression hose are still your best bet for now.

Not Pregnancy: Unless you had an early miscarriage this is about hormones.  Irregular periods are often about irregular hormones.  If this is the first time this has happened to you then you may just be normal next cycle. If this continues you may want to visit with your doctor to determine if you need some hormone regulation.

Yes: This requires a trip to your doctor. You could have a blood clot in one of the deep veins in your leg. This is serious so go now.

6 months : Dvt in pregnancy is treated with a variation of Heparin called Lovenox which is injected just under the skin twice a day. Coumadin (warfarin) is fatal to the fetus and should never be given during pregnancy. A 3 to 6 month recommendation is given depending on the patient's other ongoing risk factors after delivery.

i'm returning to work from maternity leave. during pregnancy i developed varicose veins and have achey legs.  can tights cause circulation/clotting?

Activity ; stockings: After delivery you will have less chances of  getting phlebitis and clotting , now be more active , when ever possible elevate the  legs , sea elastic stockings , and warm compresses if your legs feel uncomfortable , you will be fine
