Post partum diet: Having a child is a wonderful and challenging experience. New responsibilities, lack of sleep, new interactions with family and spouse, lack of sleep, unfamiliar chores and experiences. All this, makes weight loss a tall order. I would first recommend finding some time for yourself. Discuss with your spouse, your family. One hour can be very therapeutic to your diet, planning meals, and exercise.

Losing weight: To lose weight, get ur resting metabolism rate done(weight loss centers do this). This determines the total number of calories you need to lose 1-2lbs/week. Decreasing 500cal/day will give you a 1lb wt loss in 1wk; drink water (1/2 your body weight), eat small meals about 150-200cal 2-4x/(depending on your metabolism rate) and 500cal/meal at night: lean protein/veggies; avoid carbs, .

at three months postpartum with my 2nd baby i had midcycle bleed. went for transvaginal ultrasound to check on a uterine polyp i had and it was gone. i did start working out heavy again to lose weight could that have been the cause of midcycle bleed?

: Working out could be a factor, but at only three months postpartum your cycles may still be a little unpredictable. Whether or not you are breast feeding and what you are using for birth control are also potential factors. Unless it is particularly painful or heavy it is not an immediate concern and should be investigated further if it continues to happen with future cycles.

No magic number: There's no perfect number. Here a good rule of thumb. Subtract your age from 220. This is your maximum predicted heart rate. Multiple by 60%. This is your recommended target heart rate. Example: age 44.   220-44=176.  0.6x 176=105. 105 is your target.  Remember: you'll lose more weight by reducing your intake than by trying to burn it up. Any exercise at any heart rate is beneficial for dieters.

It depends on the: desired rate of loss. Bottom line is that there are about 3,500 calories per pound. It you eat far too few calories - it will actually cause your metabolic rate to slow (bad thing). In general - slower rate of loss is better. AND don't forget about exercise. Take care.

Depends: If severe (say hemoglobin of 7, nl is about 12 or so), and especially if symptoms or signs of poor blood flowto brain, kidneys, etc (shock), may get a transfusion. Recovery depends on genl health and nutrition status-especially iron stores. 1 pint of blood=250mg iron=1gm hemoglobin; iron stores can be 4500mg (often less in women, and in preg-. Thus prenatalvits). !gm/10 d. Can donate 1pt every 2m.
