my son 17 woke up with itchy rash patch on neck that looks a lot like eczema patch. hes never had eczema before. it itches and is inflamed. what is it? also says he doesnt feel well.

Can't say for sure: The most common reason for a localized outbreak on the skin is a contact reaction to some trigger agent. This could be liquid/solid/metal/plant/etc. If it's raw, sometimes a mild OTC steroid cream will help.A localized reaction is rarely the cause or part of another illness. That is likely something else.

Infection?: To know for sure what it is, you would need to see a Dermatologist.  A common cause of your symptoms is a yeast infection or bacterial infection in the skin.  These can usually be treated with non-prescription antifungal or antibacterial skin creams.   Best wishes!

Doctor can examine: Hands and fingers eczema sometimes appears as itchy little blisters. In some people, the blisters are actually little firm bumps, but they do itch. We call that dyshidrosis or dyshidrotic eczema. Because rashes are difficult to describe in words, and even harder to visualize from words, his primary care doctor or a dermatologist can look at the blisters to help decide what they are.

Itching with opiates: Itching is a potential side effect to opiates.  Watch for difficulty breathing or other signs of an allergic reaction.  But itching can be a side effect of that class of medications.

No: Tetmosol is a parasiticide, which works by acting against the burrowing mite Sarcoptes scabiei, the infective cause of scabies. Unless you have been diagnosed with scabies I would avoid this soap as a treatment. See a Dermatologist or Allergist to determine type and cause of rash.

Gynecologist: This may be due to a dermatological disease called lichen sclerosis et atrophicus. This is usually accompanied by severe itching. I suggest consulting your gynecologist or dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment.

Likely ok but: you will likely have additive sedation effect from both drugs. Note that there is a recent  warning on cardiovascular effect from hydroxyzine and that neither drug provides normal sleep.

what can i put on rash to stop itching rash almost cleared up but can't get rid of itch.will it hurt being in sun going to florida for a wk, don't want to be itching the entidre time. please, have appt april 4 with a derma. until april 4th?

: Good news that rash is disappearing, but if itching remains, may try the following before seeing dermatologist...Aveeno oatmeal baths for 15 mins 1-2 per day, cerave anti itch lotion to itchy area often. May try antihistamines such as zyrtec or benadryl if ok with your family doc. Ocean water might be helpful, but avoid significant exposure to sun.
