If : If you're only having a septoplasty you can probably go back to work after a few days. The recovery depends on your pain tolerance and whether your surgeon uses any packs/splints in the nose. I try to avoid using packs or splints as that usually helps reduce the amount of discomfort after surgery.

Acute: Acute healing is done in a week or two, and most people take a week off of work. Two weeks of no heavy lifting or strenuous activity, and 6 weeks before the nasal bones are full strength. Yet, it takes a year for all of the healing to finish.

Not bad at all : My patients do great and really like the procedure. I offer a version of it that is done in the office or it can be done under general anesthesia. It can be quite effective. Generally there is some mild oozing after and regular Tylenol (acetaminophen) is enough to cover the pain.

You : You may want to take about a week off work if you have both a rhinoplasty and septoplasty at the same time. It's best to have the rhinoplasty concurrently as it's very common to use the cartilage harvested during a septoplasty to do some of the rhinoplasty work.

About 2 to 3 weeks: Endoscopic sinus surgery associated with a septoplasty takes about 2 to 3 weeks to heal.  The healing process is dependent on the extent of the pathology in your sinuses and the extent of the surgical procedure.  Your sinus surgeon will have the answers to your questions.

Septoplasty: I would go back to your doctor.  If there are healing issues, the ENT would be the best person to evaluate your problem.  Feel better.

This may consist of removing deviated portions of the septum, straightening some of the deviations or replacing portions of the deviated septum.  The surgery is usually done via an endonasal (inside the nose) approach.
