Muscle or joint: Hard to put these two symptoms together. This could be joint pain, it could be muscle pain, or could be the two together this is something you need to have evaluated

Unclear: What was torn and have you seen a doctor? Was the Achilles ligament torn? Could you have been on antibiotics, such as ciprofloxacin? They can cause tendinopathies, and should be avoided.

Popliteus muscle: Probably spontaneous rupture of popliteus muscle in upper calf region, behind the knee.  If we're gastrocnemius (calf)  muscle rupture would be much subcutaneous blood.  The muscle is small and when pain resolves no significant motor dysfunction.  Surgery to repair not usually undertaken.  You need to see an orthopedic surgeon to confirm.

Partial tear: Usually this history means a partial tear of one the calf muscles. The medial head of the gastrocnemius is the most common. Tingling may just be from some swelling around the nerve. I expect that to resolve within a few days. Rest, ice a calf sleeve and wearing supportive shoes with heels should all help you. Don't stretch it. Ibuprofen optional. Healing usually in 2-6 weeks.

Depends if spasm: Calf can be artery narrowing( pulse will found to be poor) or low potassium calcium or phosphate, but could be without cause, in which case Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and quinine and muscle stretching can work.

A cyst: There is a possibility that you have a cyst or a mass in the calf muscle that causes this.
The most common cause is a baker's that comes off the back of the knee joint ansd comes between the orgin of some of the muscles in the calf. An MRI can help determine the "cause" of the "pop".

You may have : Torn a muscle. If there is pain and swelling you need to have it examined. It is always possible to have a concomitant DVT which should be ruled out as it can be masked in the injury.
