Calf Muscle tear: Bruising likely from a partial gastrocnemius (calf) muscle tear. These can be very painful, but pain should steadily decrease over first 10-14 days. Avoid aggressive massage so as to limit additional bleeding. Purposefully walking flat-footed until non tender, will help alleviate pain with each step. Seek orthopaedic evaluation if pain does not improve to confirm diagnosis.
