Sort of: Venous stasis is a condition of skin changes which is due to an abnormality in Venous return. It is generally cost by Val problems that allow blood from high-pressure veins to enter the low-pressure veins that my under the skin. These veins respond to this increased pressure by becoming large, letting fluid go through their loss creating swelling, letting blood go through their loss creating discoloration and finally having so much back pressure that nutritious arterial blood cannot enter an area of the skin. This results in ulcers.

In tapvr, all of the veins from the lungs return to the heart in an abnormal fashion--the blood with oxygen returns to the right side of the heart. The only way this can be fixed is by surgery.

Fracture: I am not sure why cortisone was used. Steroids usually impede healing. Talk to your doc and explain that you're not improving. If you feel like you're not getting the right answer, get a second opinion.

It doesn't: Heart rate will only increase venous return if one is transitioning from an abnormally fast rate to a normal rate. Further slowing of the heart rate will not increase venous return and, in fact, if heart becomes too slow, venous return will diminish. If heart rate stops, venous return will also cease.

Venous return: A lot depends on the degree of left to right shunting . Patients can remain symptom free for some time until evidence of right ventricular overload appear and will result in breathlessness. Best be seen by a congenital heart specialist to assess prognosis in your case

Depends: Severity depends on if there are any other defects &amp; how much of the pulmonary venous return is abnl. If no other defects &amp; only 1 anomalous vein, then the amount of left to right shunting will not be much, there won't be that much extra blood flow to the lungs, &amp; there probably won't be any symptoms or need for surgical repair. Right heart enlargement can assess how significant the shunting is.

Abnormal lung veins: The pulmonary veins are the vessels that normally bring blood with oxygen back to the heart from the lungs. Supracardiac tapvr is when these veins drain to the innominate vein which eventually brings that blood back to the right side of the heart rather than the left. This requires surgical repair. Babies born with this usually have much lower than normal oxygen levels and appear blue.

Nothing...: At his age you don't really need to restrict his activity. However, this is a fantastic question for his pediatric cardiologist as he gets older. That is the person who knows best your child's specific cardiac layout, how much blood is shunting to alternative places in his circulation and whether or not that shunting is putting any undo stress on his heart. However, make sure he gets his flu shot!

Backwards thinking: You're starting at the end: what treatments? Instead of at the beginning: what is it &amp; what is the cause? Vertigo is like pain: it's not a disease, it's a symptom. Like pain it can have many causes, from trivial to serious. Often no specific cause can be found. THEN you go to (symptomatic) treatment. See your doctor &amp; find out what it is; THEN what you can do about it.
