ECG: In normal ecgs, there is a gradual increase in the size of the R wave from v1 thru v3. If that isn't present but the tracing otherwise looks normal we read poor R wave progression v1-3. This can be due to pathology or be normal or positional, it isn't a specific finding. Absent other reasons for concern, you shouldn't be worrying about it. Talk to your doc if you have health problems.

ECG: that ECG reading is a nonspecific finding and without knowing more about you the best course is to advise you to ask your doc if any cause for concern is raised in you by that result

i m 32 years old, just done ecg which shows hb 102 p 97 bp 137/85. poor r wave progression v3 and v4. t wave flattened. sinus tachondria. what does it?

The words you have: used are not medical terms but I assume that hb is heart beat and p is pulse and tachondria is tachycardia. If that is accurate then your EKG is probably normal for you and you were a little anxious when it was done. Your Blood pressure also reflects this. All looks pretty normal. Relax.

EF on ECG: You cannot measure an ejection fraction (ef) with an ecg.  Ecg's can tell a lot of things about your heart and you need to see a physician, a cardiologist, to order an echocardiogram. That is the test that will enable that physician to tell you what your ef is.

saw my cardiologist today&had an ecg done.on the ecg report, there is the line"poor data quality, interpretation may be adversely affected".what does it mean?should i have a repeated ecg to make sure it's accurate? cardiologist told me it was normal.

It means that the: technical quality of the tracing is poor (probably baseline artifact or electrical noise on the recording) and that the computer is uncertain about the exact interpretation because of this. The human doctor will be able to account for this so I would trust his/her interpretation. It's surprising that you would have this in a Cardiologist's office but not a big concern.

Further testing: Considering your age, and without a previous ECG, considering you have shortness of breath, further studies looking at the anatomy and function of your heart is indicated. Please discuss with your doctor possibly having an Echocardiogram. Obviously, it would be helpful if you have had a previous ECG to compare to. However and regardless, your shortness of breath should be considered as a new issue

Yes: The main problem is your doctor did not explain this to you or you did not ask. Your ECG is nothing to worry about. You have a slightly prolonged PR which can be completely normal in people or can sometimes be caused by medications or other problems. Only your doctor can evaluate this in the context of your history. Otherwise this is nothing you need to worry about.

Agree: Machine only doing what it was programmed to do.

A good 20% of people have borderline or abnormal ekg.  Many related to variation in lead placement and may have no physiologic correlate.

Ekg could and probably  should say:  no significant dysrhythmia, ectopy or morphologic change suggestive of underlying heart disease or ongoing ischemia. Please corellate clinically and review with prior ekg.

what does "normal sinus rhythm, poor r wave progression otherwise normal ecg" mean? i have had a double mastectomy by the way?

: Discuss with the EKG Dr. chest surgery can change the way the heart looks to the EKG.  Compare to one before mastectomy is always good.
