: Did you feel plastic in the vaginal area? If it was coming out then it may fell out of the body when you just need to take care of contraception if you do not want pregnancy. If you felt near abdominal wall then it could come out of uterine wall to abdomen and you will need a doctor to take it out.uterine perforation is a rare complication and is unlikely. Hope it helps.

Perhaps: The strings of an iud are constantly in contact with vaginal secretions and are moist. I'm not sure i've heard of just an iud string passing from the vagina but suppose it's possible. See your doctor to make sure the iud is still in it's proper position.
