Not a big risk: Thank you for asking such an original question!   fortunately for you, the only thing you need to worry about is your shoe bill.  The types of hpv that cause plantar warts are generally different from the types that cause genital warts.  I think it's very unlikely that you'll give yourself genital warts.

i am a teacher and i walk around all day, i think i have plantar warts on my foot. it is right under my big toe, they are large warts. when i get them removed, will i need crutches since i walk around all day when im working?

: It really depends on how they are removed-if they are treated chemically, then you will likely be able to bear weight on your foot. If the warts are removed by cutting them, then it depends on how deep they are if weight-bearing without crutches will be advised. Not warts!: Yes, you can definitely get athletes foot on one or two toes. It's usually under toes that don't get completely dry after showering. Warts are hard, thick areas without liquid inside. What you describe sounds more like athletes foot. An over-the-counter antifungal cream might help.

Yes &amp; no: Warts are caused by strains of virus that are acquired from environmental exposure. Those strains that infect the skin/foot are specific to those skin types. They do not infect the mouth. Your husband may or may not have got them from a sister or just from a contaminated floor surface. The virus does not pass easily &amp; most occurrences are random. It is not like a strep germ.

No: Foot warts are different than melanoma, and are approached differently.  Melanoma is very serious, and if you have a questionable skin lesion you should bring it to your doctor's attention immediately. Not knowing seems to be scary to you now.  Why not have it checked out and [likely] get started on appropriate care.
