petechiae on legs, on and off for a few months. had two normal cbcs (w diff). only other symptoms are small bruises and occasional blood on stool (seeing a gi for that. most likely unrelated). should i continue to worry about the petechiae?

Testing: A virtual consultation is available. Clotting studies are recommended. Avoid Motrin and similar products, until evaluated. Eat leafy greens and consider a multi vitamin to correct any deficiencies. You may have a bleeding disorder which should be further evaluated.

Varicose veins?: Any evidence of varicose veins?   If you are taking aspirin or vit E, consider stopping them.

Evaluate: These symptoms could be due to a blood or bone marrow disorder or autoimmune disease. Have her seen by a physician and the appropriate tests will be ordered.

i woke up with 2 areas of petechiae on my leg. no injury or med use. it's definitely petechiae..one of them turning purple other still red. concern?

No cause for anxiety: One or two petechiae does not mean anything serious. I would ask you to watch for any more of them appearing. If there are many more like 10 or more then you may have a cause for some concern in which case you should go see your primary care doctor and request a CBC and platelet count done. But it very unlikely that you will have to go that far. Good luck.

This is a rare disor: Could be benign hypergammaglobulinemia of waldenstrom. Or other problem with pltelets or blood proteins see a hematologist.

: If you are overweight, that may be a partial explanation. Keeping legs dependent may cause venous stagnation and can result in petechiae around hair follicles.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

Allergic purpura: You are probably having a hypersensitivity reaction that targets blood capillary walls which become weak and thus  leak  blood

is it possible that i might have leukemia? i have had petechiae on my legs for a few years now and its been getting worse. also dizziness, cold/allergy symptoms and chest pain over the past few months, and migraines every other week?

Petechiae: Petechiae can be caused by autoimmune vasculitis or by low blood platelets. A simple cbc and differential cell count would reveal leukemia or platelet deficiency. Dizziness, allergy type symptoms and migraine headaches may not be explainable by one diagnosis. Your GP or an internist would examine you and order appropriate tests in order to treat you or refer you to certain specialists like hematol

Leukemia worries: With normal cell counts leukemia appears less likely. Workup should continue on with your doc as to what is causing your symptoms. There might be health related anxiety as well and/or undisclosed information for why leukemia was the leading diagnosis.

can tylenol cause petechiae or capillaritis? i notice every time i take tylenol, i get petechiae on my legs. 3 cbc's and clotting tests from hematologist were all normal. this has been going on for almost a year?

: Many things are possible in life, but Tylenol (acetaminophen or paracetamol) as it is commonly used is not considered a cause of petechiae or capillary problems. If a person is worried about unusual symptoms, and has substitute medications available, she might use substitute medications for a while or a year, and then see if she is symptom-free upon return to Tylenol. Her doctor can give advice.
