Stop using it if you are getting such a reaction.

Dry Socket Possible: Call your dentist asap. You could possibly have a dry socket resulting from loss of the blood clot in the extraction site.  This area needs to be packed with a dressing that will cover the area to help it heal and to alleviate your discomfort.  I would talk to your dentist before using the Perioguard rinse, just to be on the safe side.

today i had my scaling and root planning. the hygienist also gave me local delivery antimicrobials ag-th b/r on six teethes. they advised to rinse mouth with periogard, but i can't buy that for another week. is it okay?

: The mouth has many bacteria, therefore any measure is just for protective purpose.  Start with salt solution ( 1/2 teaspoon in 8 fl oz of water) and use as oral rinse while wait 1 week should be fine.  Other oral rinsing solution may also be helpful.  Many way to promote oral hygiene.

Prevent infection: Perioguard is an antimicrobial mouthwash. The reason that they want you to use it is to help prevent infection of the surgical site. If you don't like the taste then ask them if you can discontinue it. I usually have my patients rinse with warm salt water after extractions.
