Breathing: Good that you were checked, but any blood test can give a false negative.  Nothing is 100%. However, you had other tests that confirmed the lack of PE yesterday.  Could your problem be asthma?  Could it be costochondritis or pleuritis?  Since your symptoms have worsened, you deserve further evaluation.

?PE: Often x-ray is normal in pe but hamptons hump or westermark sign are sometimes seen.  D-dimer has a high sensitivity but low specificity meaning that if the test is negative,  it is good for ruling out pe.  If it is positive,  it does not necessarily mean you have pe and further evaluation is recommended.  If you look up well's criteria,  you can calculate your pre-test probability.

PE: Pulmonary Embolism, Pericardial Effusion can both cause intermittent symptoms; in the absence of additional  information it would be wise to provide more detailed history and undergo physical examination to evaluate presumably chest symptoms.

Dvt!: Blood clots in legs can be due to obesity, trauma, sitting for a long time such as in a plane, etc the pathophysiology is due to damage to inner lining of the vein, stasis of blood, and clothing of that blood. If the blood clot breaks off it can travel top the lungs and cause block age of a vein which will prevent the exchange of oxygen and can lead to difficulty breathing and death.

Yes: IF your blood clot was due to cancer  you should have had additionally symptoms unless it is in its early stage. Many other things cause blood clots, such as birth control, smoking, genetic mutations. Best to see your doctor to address your concerns. Good luck

Short of breath: Sudden onset shortness of breath. Sometimes sharp chest pain that changes with breathing. Rapid heart rate and occasionally if big pe dizziness and fainting.

DVT: Deep vein thrombosis often causes symptoms but at times does not.  Commonly they are in the calf muscle which can cause swelling and pain there. It depends on the location. In the brain, it can cause headaches, in the shoulder region, it can cause swelling of the arm. Around the kidney, it can cause bloody urine or flank pain.

i had 2 tiny pes 5 months ago. idiopathic. 30 yrs old. no symptoms accidentally found. should i be a lifer on coumadin (warfarin)?

Probably: Unprovoked/idiopathic clotting with pulmonary embolism is a significant problem, and it would be best to see your doctor.  If there is a family history of clotting problem, then you should be tested for thrombophilia, and if positive, then long term anticoagulation is best.
