?PE: Often x-ray is normal in pe but hamptons hump or westermark sign are sometimes seen. D-dimer has a high sensitivity but low specificity meaning that if the test is negative, it is good for ruling out pe. If it is positive, it does not necessarily mean you have pe and further evaluation is recommended. If you look up well's criteria, you can calculate your pre-test probability.
