Interferon: Intron a (interferon alfa 2b) is the trade name for interferon alpha.  Not used as much as in the past, but still can be used for high risk melanoma, rarely for some myeloproliferative neoplasia situations and renal cell cancers.  Most common use is in hepatitis c.  Interferon is a natural substance made by lymphoid cells in response to viral and other illnesses.

MD supervision: Is mandatory while using those strong medications, counseling is important too, which I'm sure happened, yes steroids and biologicals suppress the immun system, but not permanently

: When children are around other children for long periods of time frequent colds are common. There is no vitamin or immune booster that can help. Frequent hand washing and using a mask could help but that isn't possible with a 2.5 yr old.

It is an urban myth (or old wives' tale) that people have "weak" immune systems that make them more susceptible to everyday infections (like colds) or make such infections worse. Stress, anxiety, poor sleep, and similar things may have such effects, but if you are generally healthy and feel well, then almost certainly your immune system is entirely normal.
