No: Light headed/ dizziness  with painful heavy period requires evaluation. May be even blood work to rule out anemia. Please, drink more fluids and eat well. This may helps a little.

Get evaluated: The first thing to evaluate for if haven't done so is pregnancy( if you have been sexually active of course). If not the case then it would be good to be seen for any other hormonal issues that might be going on. If you are in any birth control this could also be a possibility.

Needs examination: Painful cramps after period ends can be a sign of several different conditions such as endometriosis, ovarian cysts, pelvic inflammatory disease, adenomyosis, and fibroids.  Usually not normal to have cramping after period ends so I would recommend an appointment with the physician.

See your Doc!: Severe pain and bleeding is an ectopic pregnancy until proven otherwise.  The best way to make sure is to get a blood pregnancy test.    It can also be an infection.  Its possible its just a bad period but if this hasn't happened to you before, I'd probably get checked out. Best wishes!

Mittelschmerz: The timing is right around when most women with regular periods would ovulate: pain at this time is fairly common and is called mittelschmerz. There could be other causes in your case but you'd need a thorough history and exam to begin evaluation. Good wishes.

The cramps: Think of the anatomy of the pelvis.  You have abdominal wall muscles, bladder, uterus, intestines, ureters, ligaments, and possible sites for hernias.  

Knowing more details of your pain, where it is located, what makes it worse or better could help your family doc or gynecologist figure this out.

: Would follow up with  urgent care or ER  today. You need a blood count as you can  really become very anemic from menstrual bleeding and get dizzy weak and short of breath. . They can possibly advise medication or BCP that may control the bleeding and could should  what is the source, polyps, fibroids, poly cystic ovarian syndrome or other.

Pregnant?: always do pregnancy test to make sure you are not pregnant.
see your obgyn for evaluation by exam and u/s as needed if not pregnant.
if you are not pregnant, you can take motrin 800 mg every 8 hours for bad cramps

ive started my period 2 weeks early, and this has never happened. its kind of heavy, but no painful cramps. also, i started taking a probiotic about a week and a half a ago. i stopped taking it a few days ago though. could that be the cause?

: It should not be related. But pl do not take any supplements without talking to your MD as the quality and veracity of their claims is questionable since they are not regulated. Periods cane occ. do that. if it recurs or is irregular again pl see your Gyn.
