Pain from coughing: Hi michelle,it is likely that you have pulled one of the small(but important)muscles in between your ribs(intercostal muscles). This can happen after a coughing illness. It goes away with time but it takes awhile as that muscle rarely gets a rest(used for breathing). Other concerns would be inflammation of the lining of the lungs(pleuritis). Ibuprofen or tylenol (acetaminophen) can be helpful for pain.

Pleurodynia: Female, no stated age has pain right upper chest, near armpit, painful to raise shoulder blade or cough. Sounds like Pleurodynia from infection/ inflammation affecting the lining of the Lung in that region. Could be caused by a number of Viruses and tends to Self- limit but if pain/ cough persist may need antibiotics and/or other treatment.  Then see MD

Sprained muscle: Most likely you pulled or sprained a muscle while coughing.  Some patients have been known to break ribs with a severe cough.  I assume they did X-Rays already.  I would avoid any heavy lifting with the left arm and mild pain relievers.  It should get better by itself

URI- AIR TRAVEL... !: Most probably viral. But at this temperature, better if travel can be delayed. Upper respiratory infection with inflammation/swelling of throat, nose can cause severe earache while plane taking off and landing, due eustacian tube dysfunction. If possible, have a check up with the child's pediatrician.

Chest Pain: If what you have has been going for weeks, it might be related to muscular problem or other structures of the chest not of much concern.
However, if the pain has been for short period of time, you better gets it checked out. 
Pain worse with breathing or coughing might indicates problems with the lung itself or surrounding cover of it
Pain that is constant all the time might be due to heart issue.

Could be diaphragm: When you cough, it increases your intrathoracic and intra-abdominal pressure. If you do not have enough fluid between your lung tissue and your diaphragm, coughing and even deep breathing can cause pain. Your medical doctor can hear if this is happening using a stethescope. Another reason for your pain could be a pinched nerve in your thoracic spine. Sometimes an MRI is necessary to diagnose this.

Viral cough: Your symptoms sound like you may have a persistent viral cough after a chest infection which can sometimes last for weeks or months. You could have possibly strained your upper chest wall muscles as well with bouts of coughing hence the armpit pain. If you can feel any hard lumps in your armpit that are not resolving with time or other new symptoms then you will need to se a doctor

Not sure: Thee is no known relation between arm pit and sneezing, unless you accidentally banged or jerked your arm due to vigorous sneezing. Since sneezing is more likely due to allergy, take some OTC allergy meds and use Flonase for a days to relieve symptoms. If arm pain persist, pl get it examined at your PMD or Urgent Care. Ee your physician: 3+ week is too long to feel sick. Whether the problem is chronic bronchitis, asthma, or another problem, it's time to see your physician.  An examination, a chest X-ray and appropriate tests should get to the cause of the problem and to proper treatment

Costochondritis..?: Sometime pain in between the ribs may be result of inflammation of tendon , muscles in between ribs. If you right handed - some activity - repetitive motion could trigger it ( as cleaning, workout,.) . Whenever chest  &amp; ribs expands as deep breath, cough, sneeze - it hurts because of inflamed area is irritated. Try ice  Ibuprofen 600-800 mg every 8 hours with food. Stretch. See doc if no better .
