Anxiety and pain: Are related.  Once your doc has given you an understanding of the source of your pain, a clinical psychologist or other mh professional can teach you strategies to manage it.  That might be self-hypnosis, meditation, breathing, cognitive therapy, etc.  Peace and good health.

Pain sensitivity: This simply means that the response to pain in this instances is less than what the response would be in other who have a normal response.

Accepted Answer

Yes and no: Chronic pain from soft tissue injuries can be ameliorated by proper physical therapy to strengthen certain muscles, and a trained physical therapist is the best person to advise as to a program.  The idea that certain people develop "pain sensitivity" is a currently fashionable theory, but one that is speculative and not yet proven with certainty.

Accepted Answer

Could be CRP: Complex regional pain syndrome (aka reflex sympathetic dystrophy) can result from repeated injuries to the same place, especially an extremity.  When it comes on , even a feather light touch can be painful.  But if there is no history of injury this is not likely.

tripped over wooden board 2 weeks ago.  having difficulty walking/pain/sensitivity (cold)/ swelling/decreased circulation.  what can i do at home?

Cold swollen limb: Unfortunately you’ve done too much. This is now a medical emergency and if you delay seeking help any longer it could become a catastrophe. A cold swollen limb is a dying one. Drop everything you are doing and go to the hospital

burning anus/tailbone pain. sensitivity in area. is this a symptom of a chordoma or am i ridiculous for thinking this?

Exclude hemorrhoids: Rare diagnoses are rarely correct. Chordoma is an uncommon tumor. It would be prudent to rule out hemorrhoids, that seem to be able to explain your symptoms, before considering other diagnoses.

i have extreme skin pain/sensitivity on my left rib cage, at times extending around to my back x 2 mos. there are no visible lesions or redness.

Nerve irritability: It appears that the rib cage nerves or muscles are irritable or slightly inflamed. This dysesthesia is best evaluated by a neurologist for diagnosis, causes and treatment.

tooth pain+sensitivity to cold. had a filling a month ago. xrays looked fine today. cold air hurt on tooth too. what else could be causing this pain?

Not uncommon or....: It's not uncommon to have some sensitivity for awhile following a new filling, and more likely to occur with deep, large, and amalgam filling. Other possible causes are gum recession exposing the root surface and the bite being slightly off. It should be getting better rather that worse or the same over time. If not, return to your dentist to have check it out or some other adjacent tooth problem.

can recurrent uti/ antibiotic use cause ic? is it normal to have slight pain/sensitivity during urination after treatment?

IC is not repeat UTI: Lower uti's are usually responsive to antibiotics, but recurrences are common.  Other conditions besides infection can cause frequency and urinary discomfort; interstitial cystitis is only one of many.  The hallmark of ic is visualization of 'glomerulation' on cystoscopy; however, ic may exists without seeing this. Potassium sensitivity test in the office can confirm.  You do need a diagnosis.

crp after foot fx/orif- burning pain, sensitivity, redness, red dots, dry skin. is crps the only diagnosis or could this be something else?
