See a doctor: I would recommend seeing a doctor. This may be just a muscle pull but it could also be a concussion. It is hard to question and examine you through this medium to be sure.

It sounds like u hav: A recurrent muscle spasm.  In these situations teeth clinching at night , or bruxism (tmj in dental language) can be a factor. If no numbness in arms it's probably fine but look at activities prior. You may benefit from an occasional low dose muscle relaxor at night such as cyclobenzaprine 10 mg at night when needed. Good luck.

why do i get a stabbing pain in one side of my neck during an orgasm?

Muscle contraction: Probably from the muscles you are contracting during the orgasm.  Does this happen all the time ?  Is it something new ?  Is it worsening ?

i have had pain on one side of my neck spreading into my right shoulder over the past few days. it has now caused very limited movement in my right arm specifically moving from vertical to a 90 degree horizontal position.

See a doc: While this could be muscular in nature, it sounds more like a cervical outlet issue that could be disc, degenerative compression of nerve or cord. Appropriate neurological exam and testing MRI, EMG/NCS should provide an exact diagnosis. Then a helpful treatment plan will be generated. In the meantime be certain your neck is supported well during sleep by a small bolster that distracts and supports

Neck: Thyroiditis is usually diagnosed with blood tests. There are other treatments for it that you can discuss with your doctor. There are other causes for neck pain as well including a neuralgia

Not Hodgkins: Well known that alcohol and smoking are highly associated with oral and throat cancer.  The alcohol in many cases acts as a severe irritant of oral/pharyngeal mucosa.  The throat enters the cervical esophagus when both lateral sides of the oropharynx, the piriform sinuses fuse to form midline esohphagus.  Alcohol running down the lateral pharynx across an area of inflammed mucosa can cause pain

Doctor should check: Whether or not a lymph node is called swollen depends on the size of the node and the average size of nodes in that part of the body, in people of that age group. A node about the diameter of a dime may be called enlarged, and one that is half the width of a dime is called normal sized. In children neck nodes usually get larger than dime-width in strep throat or other infections.

Goiter: Goiter is common, and can be asymmetric. However, enlarged thyroid just on one side may also have a different cause - important to get it checked out. A scan or a biopsy may be needed!

Autonomic feature: During the headache phase of the migraine the systemic symptoms are: blurry vision, diarrhea, abdominal cramps,  polyuria, pallor of the face, stiffness and tenderness of the neck, and sweating. Cold sensation is a part of the autonomic features.

what is a pinched nerve and its causes? one side of neck and shoulder. how do you know for sure you have it and how to rule it out?

: Your very general question cannot be briefly answered here on this site.  Specifically, if you have pain radiating from your neck into your shoulder and down your arm, there could be a ruptured disc compressing an exiting nerve root.  If there is suspicion, MRI images could help confirmation.
